The Leadership class at Laurel Hill School recently helped out with fire prevention activities

Jennifer Franklin, LHS

The students participated in various activities to assist the firefighters with the day’s events including assembling fire hats for the elementary students.

Tabatha Henderson, one of the leadership students, is actually a volunteer firefighter. She is seen here in this photo dressed in her fire-gear, ready to go into a fire. I asked Tabatha why she was getting into her gear and she said, “Sometimes the fire-gear frightens children. It is important that they see a firefighter get dressed in their gear so that they won’t be afraid if we go into their home to rescue them.” Great job, Tabatha!  More photos >
